If your external links are not working review the links to ensure that they are not broken links.
If your links are not working what is the format that you have them in? Are they https://google.com or https://www.google.com
If they are https://google.com then you will need to add in the www. so your link will need to look like https://www.google.com
If you are still having issues make sure the link is a full link and not a shortened link this will also ensure that the link will work properly.
